MedySun has constantly proved himself to be one of hip-hops new-school visionaries and plans take hip-hop and rap to new and electrifying levels. Indeed, MedySun is a valued emcee, devoted to his music, with a passion for life, culture, social consciousness and a desire to edutain (educate and entertain), which will surely fortify his place in musical history.
Born in Harlem, New York, MedySun grew up at the center of hip-hops golden era of the 1980's. Inspired by legendary emcees of the time (Rakim, KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, Run DMC), MedySun began rhyming and writing songs at the tender age of eleven. He moved to the islands of Bermuda to live with his father. In Bermuda he was exposed to the rhythms and lyrics of foundation and dancehall reggae, which also had a major part in inspiring his musical knowledge.
Encouraged by his brother in law (Faheem the Elemental), MedySun became part of his group R.A.C.E. He later signed to the record label Earthquake Entertainment, the independent label owned by his brother in law. On their first record - 'Sins of the World released in 2000, MedySun' talent was clear to see - exhibiting his entire gift as a lyricist and ability to motivate the crowd. The group stepped on the underground scene and made a name for themselves amongst the top underground emcees such as; Immortal Technique, Percy P, Breeze Eva Flowin, C Rayz Wallz, Poison Pen, Jin the MC (former Ruff Ryder battle artist). “I learned a lot from these guys. I learned what it meant and what it took to be an emcee/hustler/an entrepreneur. They’re still in the game making moves because that’s what it takes to make your dreams a reality.
The breaks were stepped on when his son was born prematurely in 2004. A year later MedySun returned to the studio to record the next R.A.C.E. album with F the Elemental in 2005. The following year his son passed away which caused him to fall back and re-evaluate his life. “When life hit you with the death of a child there’s no way one can rebound the next day or even the following month. I knew I had to fall back and clear my mind and seek higher guidance.” Eager to get back into the music MedySun knew that he had to work hard and make moves right away to clear his mind and prepare himself for his next step. He went on an eight month hiatus to the islands of Bermuda then to the Kingdom of Morocco in Africa. His younger brother (Abdul-Qaadir a.k.a. Dullah) encouraged him to get back on his music game and offered to manage his musical affairs. “Honestly, if it wasn’t for Dullah giving me the support I needed I would have probably given up the music. He was that final pillar that held me up.”
After nine years from his first release with the group R.A.C.E. MedySun returned to the studio and is now working on a series of mix tapes and his solo debut album. His mix tape Food 4 Thought Vol.1 will be released in February 2011. MedySun is currently working on organizing showcases and exhibitions in various communities for charity. “Community work is part of my mission as artist. I feel if I rap about what goes on in our community is only right and logical to give back to the source of our inspiration. Hip Hop is here forever!”

Bringing a fresh new sound that is resonating through Houston’s underground music world, Sydnee-Jane has become known for making great records, bycombining intimate, intricate verses with catchy hooks. Sydnee-Jane is a classically trained vocalist, and a well rounded artist with a musical family that hails from Texas and has played with greats such as Count Bassie. The Houston, Texas, "southern singer," song-writer, arranger, and producer looks to get her music heard throughout the world. Sydnee-Jane is truly one of a kind, she toured a stint with a local rock band, under the name Sydnee-Jane & The Damen Austin Band creating the greatest fusion ofSoul & Rock music. Sydnee-Jane is currently workingwith Multi-Platinum Producers Joe Traxx (Mya, UGK, Ciara, Scarface Etc.), and N.O. Joe (Office Space, Sprite, Family Guy, Scarface, Brian McKnight, Lil Wayne, Etc.), along with her songwriting company, DicknJane Lyrikz on the next Sydnee-Jane project, as well major song placements and touring with her own live showensemble The Jane-Ettes & The Essence of Soul Band. When Sydnee-Jane is asked to describe her style she breaks it down into two categories, “as a songwriter, my music is a fusion of genres from classical music to rap, but as an artist my style is heavily concentrated in the Soul, Pop, and Rock areas with a splash of doo-wop. Recently, I have been experimenting with 50’s, 60s and 70s music, and I love the Woodstock era.” Background: Her extensive background includes a starring stage performance in The Velveteen Rabbit, at the Ensemble Theater, which ran for several years 1998-2001 on the local television network, andperforming for former First Lady Barbara Bush. She was also elected to sing lead by Robert Ray, a moderncomposer of the piece entitled, Gospel Mass in C, an arranged version of Mozart’s Mass in C, a 23 page work in 2002, and was also a chosen vocalist elected to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York. She was a featured model during NBA All Star Weekend in Houston, TX along side of, Eva Pigford & TysonBeckford, in the All Star Fashion Show, and a performance on the same stage as female rap superstars, Trina and Nicki Minaj in 2010. Sydnee-Jane has also been a featured performer at SXSW in 2006 and 2010. Current Projects: She is working on a solo EP project entitled “Jane’s World: A Trilogy” which includes the futuristic soul, pop, rock song “Ready to Go.” Sydnee-Jane also introduces a new school, doo-wop,soul sound on the songs, The World is Crazy, and Gimmie More, which are produced by N.O. Joe. Sydnee-Jane is also touring with her live show background vocalists, The Jane-Ettes. Releases: Sydnee-Jane’s 2nd album was released unofficially in 2008, and her introductory album, TurnMe On, was released in November 2005. Her follow up promotional EP, Turn Me On V2; 4 Tha Luv OfMuzik, caught the attention of many industry heavyweights and proved that she is here to stay.
